Festool OF 1010 EBQ Dust Port: What Connects To It
This one is different from most Festool tools.
A GulpDust adapter is printed to the size you measure on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. Neither one seals on this port by itself. The adapter matches the router port on one end and your vac hose on the other end, so you get a clean fit.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Festool OF 1010 EBQ Router
Clear any chips out of the side port first. A clean port gives the best fit.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter onto the port. We print it to the size you measure, so it holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end of the adapter.
Turn the vac on before you start the cut. A router throws a lot of chips fast. A good fit at the port pulls those chips straight into the vac instead of all over your bench.
Why Dust Collection Matters on a Router
A router makes a high volume of chips in a hurry. Without a vac those chips pile up on your work and block your view of the cut.
