Cyclone and separator inlets
A cyclone lid sits on a bucket between your tool and your vac. It drops chips into the bucket so they never reach the filter. The lid has two hose ends, an inlet and an outlet, and both are just sizes.
We drew 42 lids and none of them is for sale right now. Every one measures larger than the biggest printer we work with, so we hold them instead of selling a part we cannot make in one piece.
What we can do today is the two ends. A reducer or a hose adapter steps your hose to the inlet on the lid you already own, and the builder takes any two numbers you give it.
Questions about hose sizes
How do I measure my hose end?
Measure across the opening, not around the outside of the cuff. Use the inside edge on both sides and write the number down in millimeters. A cheap caliper does this in about ten seconds. Our size guide walks through it with pictures.
My vac is not on this list. What do I do?
Measure the hose end and use the number. The size is what we build from, so the brand on the tank does not have to be one we name. If your number is not one of the sizes here, tell us and we will add it to the list of ends people are asking for.
Is a 35 mm hose the same as 1-3/8 inch?
They are close on paper and they are not the same standard. 35 mm is a metric extractor end. It is sold as 35 mm, not as an inch size, and the same goes for 27 mm and 36 mm. We keep metric ends in metric on this page so nobody buys off a converted number.
What is the difference between a shop vac and a dust extractor?
A shop vac moves a lot of air through a wide hose and is built to pick up chips and water. An extractor uses a narrower hose, holds suction as the filter loads, and usually has a finer filter. The hose ends are different sizes, which is why they sit in different groups here.
Do you sell the cyclone lid too?
Not right now. We drew 42 separator lids and every one of them measures larger than the biggest printer we work with, so none is for sale. We can still size the two hose ends that reach the lid you already own.

Measure across the opening and build from the number. The builder takes any two sizes, in inches or millimeters.
