If your calipers read about 1-7/8 in., the builder prints that end of the adapter to the number you enter. We do not guess a size from a tool name, and we do not round your number to a standard size. Fit depends on your measurement, so measure twice.

What does 1-7/8 in. mean on a hose or port?
1-7/8 inches is 47.6mm, rounded to a tenth.
Some shop vac hoses are sold with this name, and many are not. A hose name is not a reading. Measure the cuff or the port you will connect to.
Measure where the adapter will sit
A hose cuff can taper. It may read one number at the rim and another an inch deeper.
Measure at the spot where the adapter will sit. If the cuff tapers, take two readings and note how far apart they were. The size guide shows how.

Sometimes. We print each end to the number you enter, so a joint can push on snug. A joint that sees heavy use may still want a wrap of tape. Check the joint after your first few minutes of use.
