Full port and fit detail for this tool
The Kobalt SM3055LW is a 10 inch sliding compound miter saw. A miter saw throws a big pile of chips on every cut. A vac at the port catches most of them before they land on your work and your floor.
The saw has a large round dust port at the rear. Our adapter fits it. A GulpDust PETG adapter is sized to the port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other end. No tape. No clamps.

Kobalt SM3055LW Dust Port: What Fits It
The dust port on the SM3055LW is large and round, and it sits at the back of the saw. It is a stepped port, so the bore and the saw-end cuff are not the same. Our adapter is printed to fit it.
Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. Even a 2-1/2 inch hose rarely seals on this port by itself, and a taped joint leaks the whole time you cut.
A GulpDust adapter grips the saw port on one end and your vac hose on the other end. That is a tight fit at both joints.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Kobalt SM3055LW
Unplug the saw first. Then brush the sawdust out of the rear port so the adapter seats clean.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. It is a friction fit, so a firm push is all it takes. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before the blade drops. A miter saw throws its chips in the first second of the cut.
Why Dust Collection Matters on a Sliding Miter Saw
A sliding miter saw makes a big pile of chips fast. Those chips spray back behind the fence and pile up on the bench and the floor.
Pulling the chips at the port keeps your work area clear and keeps more of the fine dust out of the air you breathe. It also helps you see your cut line so your cuts stay clean.
For the best result, run a steady vac while you cut. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.
Kobalt SM3055LW Dust Collection FAQ
What size is the dust port on the Kobalt SM3055LW?+
It is a large round port at the rear, and it is stepped. Our adapter is built to fit it. You pick the hose end you need.
Does the Kobalt SM3055LW work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. A 2-1/2 inch shop vac hose is close to this large port but rarely seals on its own. The GulpDust PETG adapter is sized to the saw port on one end and to your vac hose on the other.
Why does the port feel like two different sizes?+
Because it is stepped. The bore behind the opening is narrower than the cuff at the saw end. Our adapter is shaped for that step.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Do you sell the design file?+
No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
