The dust port on the KGS 216 M is round and sits at the back of the saw. Our adapter is printed to plug into it.
Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. Those do not seal on this port on their own, and a taped joint leaks the whole time you cut.

How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Metabo KGS 216 M
Unplug the saw first. Then brush the sawdust out of the rear port so the adapter seats clean.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. It is a friction fit, so a firm push is all it takes. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before the blade drops. A miter saw throws its chips in the first second of the cut.
