Rikon 50-114 Belt and Disc Sander Dust Port Size and Shop Vac Adapter
The Rikon 50-114 is a 4 in. by 36 in. belt and 8 in. disc sander. It shapes and smooths wood parts fast. A sander makes a cloud of fine dust, which is the worst kind to breathe, so a solid dust hookup matters more here than on almost any other tool.
The 50-114 has two 1-3/8 in (35 mm) dust ports, one for the belt and one for the disc. Our PETG adapter plugs into a 35 mm port and steps it to any standard shop vac or dust extractor hose. No tape. No clamps.

Rikon 50-114 Dust Port Size: 1-3/8 in (35 mm) Round Ports
The 50-114 has two dust ports that each measure 1-3/8 in, which is 35 mm across the inside and about 40 mm on the outer cuff. Woodcraft lists these sizes with the Rikon hose made for this sander. One port serves the belt and one serves the disc.
The 35 mm size does not match a standard shop vac hose. A 2-1/2 inch hose is far too big to seal on it and a 1-1/4 inch hose is too small. That size gap is why dust leaks when you tape a big hose to the port.
A GulpDust adapter fits the 35 mm port on one end and your bigger vac hose on the other end, so you get a tight seal and full pull on both the belt and the disc.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Rikon 50-114
Clear any dust out of the port first. A clean port gives the best grip.
Push the small end of the PETG adapter into the 35 mm port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm press. Then press your shop vac or dust extractor hose onto the wide end.
The sander has two ports. You can move one adapter between the belt and disc port, or make two adapters and split your hose with a wye so both pull at once.
Why Sanders Need the Best Dust Collection
A belt and disc sander grinds wood into very fine powder. That fine dust floats the longest and reaches the deepest into your lungs. Catching it at the port is the single best thing you can do for shop air.
Pulling the dust at each port keeps the sanding surface clear so you can see your work and keep a clean edge. It also keeps a thick layer of powder off every flat spot in the shop.
For the cleanest air, match the adapter to the 35 mm port and run a steady vac while you sand. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.
Rikon 50-114 Dust Collection FAQ
What size is the dust port on the Rikon 50-114?+
It has two 1-3/8 in ports, which is 35 mm across the inside and about 40 mm on the outer cuff. They are round ports, one for the belt and one for the disc. Our adapter plugs into a 35 mm inlet.
Does the Rikon 50-114 work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch, which is much bigger than the 35 mm port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the sander port on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Can I hook up both dust ports at once?+
Yes. The sander has a belt port and a disc port. You can run two adapters and join your hose with a wye fitting so the vac pulls from both ports while you work.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Can I print this adapter myself?+
Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.
