Makita XGT 40V MAX is Makita's premium cordless platform. It sits alongside the LXT 18V platform. Tool makers change port sizes between models, and a new platform can change a port. Do not assume an adapter made for an older tool suits a new one. Measure the port on the tool you own.
Measure Your XGT Tool
- Look at the dust port. Is it an opening, or a stub?
- If it is an opening, measure across the inside with calipers or a ruler. If it is a stub, measure across the outside.
- Measure the end of your hose the same way.

If You Own LXT and XGT Tools
If you are upgrading from LXT to XGT, measure the new tool before you reuse an adapter. If the two ports read the same on your calipers, the same adapter will do the job. If they read differently, print a new one.
Cordless Vac Pairings for XGT Tools
Makita sells compact and larger cordless vacs. The compact one is good for small jobs and portability. The larger one has more capacity for longer sessions. A standard shop vac with a HEPA filter is also a common pairing for sander work. Measure the hose end on whichever vac you use.
Track Saws
A track saw port is its own thing. Do not go by a hand tool measurement. Measure the port on the saw, then the end of your vac hose.
Track saws come with a guide rail. The closed rail system channels most chips into the port. For finish panel work, pair the saw with an extractor that has a HEPA filter. This gives you clean cordless track cuts with strong dust capture.
