DeWalt DWP611 1-1/4 HP Compact Router

Specifications

Full port and fit detail for this tool

The DeWalt DWP611 is the 1-1/4 HP compact router. People call it the DeWalt 611 or the trim router. It runs at high speed and throws a pile of chips in seconds, which is fine outside and awful on a finished floor.

The router collects dust through a round port on the base. A GulpDust PETG adapter fits that port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other end. No tape. No clamps.

DeWalt DWP611 Dust Port: What Fits It

The dust port on the DWP611 is round and sits on the router base. Our adapter is made to fit it.

Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. Neither one fits a router port on its own. That gap is why chips spray sideways instead of going down the hose.

A GulpDust adapter is printed to match the router port on one end and your vac hose on the other end. It grips both, so the router pulls chips straight into the vac.

Hooking the DWP611 to a Shop Vac

Unplug the router first. Then wipe the dust out of the port so the adapter seats clean and grips all the way around.

Press the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. It is a friction fit, so a firm push is all it takes. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.

Turn the vac on before the bit touches the wood. A router throws chips from the first inch of the cut, and a clear line means a cleaner edge.

Keep the hose short and out of your path. A long hose drags on the router and pulls you off your line.

DWP611 and DCW600: Corded and Cordless, Same Port

The DWP611 plugs into the wall. The DCW600 is the same compact router on a 20V MAX battery.

Both take the same dust port adapter. If you own one of each, you only need one part.

That is why the connector page lists both routers. Pick whichever page you landed on and the part is the same.

Running a DWP611 on a CNC

The DWP611 is the most common spindle on a Shapeoko or an X-Carve. It is cheap, it is quiet enough, and every mount fits it.

On a CNC the dust comes off the bit in every direction, so the port adapter alone will not catch it. That job needs a dust shoe, a collar that wraps the router body with a brush skirt.

We do not make a dust shoe for this router. What we make is the port adapter, and that is the right part when the router is in your hands instead of on a gantry.

DeWalt DWP611 Dust Collection FAQ

Will a GulpDust adapter fit the DeWalt DWP611 dust port?+

Yes. The port is round and our adapter is printed to fit it. The other end matches your shop vac hose.

Does the DWP611 use the same adapter as the DCW600?+

Yes. The corded DWP611 and the cordless DCW600 use the same dust port, so one part covers both routers.

What is the DeWalt DNP615?+

It is DeWalt's own dust collection attachment for the fixed base. Our part is the adapter that joins the router port to a standard shop vac hose, which is the piece most people are missing.

Do you make a dust shoe for a CNC?+

No. A dust shoe is a collar with a brush skirt that wraps the router body, and we do not build that part. We build the port adapter.

Do I need clamps or tape to attach the adapter?+

No. The adapter is a friction fit. You push it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.

Do you sell the design file?+

No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
