The Makita BO6030 is a 6 inch random orbit sander. It is built for smooth finishes on wide panels and long boards. Like all sanders, it makes very fine dust that floats in the air.
The sander has a dust port on the side. We print our adapter to the size you measure there. Our PETG adapter plugs into that port and steps it up to any standard shop vac or dust extractor hose.

Makita BO6030 Dust Port: What Connects To It
The BO6030 has a dust port on the side of the tool. Our adapter is printed to plug into it.
Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. Neither one seals on this port by itself. That size gap is why fine dust blows past a taped hose and into the air.
A GulpDust adapter grips the sander port on one end and your vac hose on the other end. Firm push.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Makita BO6030
Clear any dust out of the side port first. A clean port gives the best grip.
Push the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. We print it to the size you measure, so it holds with a firm press. Then press your shop vac or dust extractor hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before you start sanding. Running the vac while you sand catches the dust at the pad and keeps more of it out of the air.
Why Dust Collection Matters on a Random Orbit Sander
A random orbit sander makes very fine dust. That dust floats. It does not fall to the floor like saw chips do.
Pulling that dust at the port keeps more of it out of the air. It also keeps the pad clean, which helps your sandpaper last longer and cut better.
For the smoothest finish, run a steady vac while you sand. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.

What size is the dust port on the Makita BO6030?+
Measure it with calipers. It is on the side of the sander. Enter that number in the builder and we print the adapter to it. You pick the hose end you need.
Does the Makita BO6030 work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. A shop vac hose and a tool port rarely match, so measure both. The GulpDust PETG adapter is sized to the sander port on one end and to your vac hose on the other.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
Usually not. We print the adapter to the size you measure, so you press it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way. Add a wrap of tape at any joint that sees heavy use.
Why does the BO6030 need dust collection so much?+
Sanders make very fine dust that floats in the air. That dust is the kind that is bad to breathe. Pulling it at the port keeps more of it out of the air and helps the sandpaper last longer.
