The Ridgid R8606B is the 18V brushless 5 in. random orbit sander. It runs on the Ridgid 18V battery. A sander makes fine dust that hangs in the air and gets into your lungs. Pulling it right at the port keeps more of it out of the air.
The sander has a dust port on the side. We print a GulpDust PETG adapter to your port measurement on one end and to your shop vac hose on the other end.

Ridgid R8606B Dust Port: What Connects To It
We print the PETG adapter to the size you measure there.
Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 in. or 2-1/2 in. Neither one presses onto a sander port on its own. That gap is why dust sprays out instead of going into the hose.
The adapter closes the gap. It grips the sander port on one end and your vac hose on the other end.
Why a Sander Needs the Vac at the Port
A sander turns wood into powder. That powder floats long after the tool stops spinning.
The stock bag catches the coarse stuff and lets the fine stuff through. A vac pulls at the port, before the dust reaches the room.
It also keeps the pad clear. Less packed dust under the disc means the paper cuts longer.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Ridgid R8606B
First, clear any dust out of the port. A clean port gives the best fit.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter onto the port. We print it to the size you measure, so it holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end of the adapter. Turn the vac on before you start to sand.
