Specifications

Full port and fit detail for this tool

The DeWalt DHS790 is the FlexVolt 12 inch double bevel sliding miter saw. It runs off batteries or off the wall, which is why it ends up on decks, additions and remodels where there is no power yet.

Those are also the worst places to spray sawdust. The saw has a round dust port at the rear. Our PETG adapter fits that port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other end. No tape. No clamps.

DeWalt DHS790 Dust Port: What Fits It

The port is at the rear of the saw, where the chip bag clips on. It is round, and our adapter is made to fit it.

A shop vac hose will not seat on it by itself. It wobbles, leaks around the joint, and comes off when the head slides.

The adapter grips the saw port on one end and your hose on the other end. Tell us the hose and we print that end to match it.

Cordless Saw, Cordless Vac, No Outlet

The reason people buy this saw is that it works with no power on site. A corded shop vac puts the cord right back.

A battery vac solves it. Most of them run a smaller hose than a shop vac, and the adapter handles either one. Pick the hose end that matches the vac you own.

Keep the hose short on a battery vac. Every foot of hose costs suction, and a small vac does not have much to spare.

Cutting inside a finished house is where this matters most. The bag lets fine dust into a room somebody has to live in.

How to Connect a Vacuum to the DHS790

Pull the battery, or unplug the saw if you are running it corded. Then take the bag off and clear the port.

Push the saw end of the adapter on. Firm press, friction fit, done. Then push the vac hose onto the other end.

Start the vac before the blade drops. A miter saw throws everything backward in the first instant of the cut.

Leave slack in the hose. This head slides and bevels both ways, and a tight hose will drag the adapter off the port.

DHS790 and the Corded DeWalt 12 Inch Saws

The DWS716, DWS779, DWS780 and DWS782 are the corded saws in the same size class, and each has its own page.

Read the model plate on the motor housing before you order. These model numbers look alike and the pages are not interchangeable.

The DW718 is the one to know about. Its dust port is not round, so a round adapter will not seal on it and we do not make a part for that saw. If you see a printed kit that claims to fit that saw and this one with the same piece, that is what it is claiming.

DeWalt DHS790 Dust Collection FAQ

Will a GulpDust adapter fit the DeWalt DHS790 dust port?+

Yes. The port is round and sits at the rear of the saw. Our adapter is printed to fit it, and the other end matches your vac hose.

Can I run the DHS790 on a cordless vacuum?+

Yes. Battery vacs usually run a smaller hose than a shop vac. Tell us which one you have and we print that end to match.

Is a shop vac better than the chip bag?+

Yes. The bag catches big chips and lets fine dust through, and it stops working well once it fills. A vac keeps pulling.

Does the same adapter fit the DWS779 or DWS780?+

Each saw has its own page and its own part. Use the page that matches the model plate on your saw.

Does it fit the DW718?+

No. The DW718 dust port is not round, so a round adapter will not seal on it. We do not make a part for that saw.

Do you sell the design file?+

No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
