The DeWalt DWE6423K is a corded 5 inch variable speed random orbit sander kit. You set the speed for the job and smooth wood fast. Sanding makes a cloud of very fine dust that hangs in the air.
The sander has a dust port on the side. A GulpDust PETG adapter snaps onto that port and lets you hook up a shop vac or dust extractor. We print it to the size you measure, so it presses in and holds.

DeWalt DWE6423K Dust Port: What Connects To It
The dust port on the DWE6423K sits on the side of the sander. We print the adapter to the size you measure there.
The small dust bag that comes with the sander fills up fast and lets fine dust slip past. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch, so they do not seal on this port on their own.
A GulpDust adapter is printed to match the sander port on one end and your vac hose on the other end. It grips both sides so the sander pulls dust straight into the vac.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the DeWalt DWE6423K Sander
Pull the dust bag off and clear any dust out of the side port first. A clean port gives the best fit.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter onto the port. We print it to the size you measure, so it holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end of the adapter.
Turn the vac on before you start sanding. Dust collection on a sander is not just about a clean bench. Fine sanding dust is the kind that hangs in the air and gets into your lungs.
Why Dust Collection Matters on a Random Orbital Sander
A random orbital sander makes very fine dust. That dust floats. It does not fall to the floor like saw chips do.
