Makita RP2303FC Plunge Router Dust Port Size and Shop Vac Adapter
The Makita RP2303FC is a 1/2 inch plunge router. It cuts deep grooves, edges, and profiles in wood. A router throws a lot of chips and fine dust right where you work, so a good dust hookup keeps your view clear and the mess down.
Makita lists the dust port at 32 mm on the inside and 37 mm on the outer cuff. Our PETG adapter plugs into the 32 mm port and steps it to any standard shop vac or dust extractor hose. No tape. No clamps.

Makita RP2303FC Dust Port Size: 32 mm Round Inlet, 37 mm Outer Cuff
Makita publishes the RP2303FC dust connection as 32 mm in and 37 mm out. The 32 mm figure is the inside of the port, which is what our adapter plugs into. The 37 mm figure is the outer cuff that a hose can slip over.
That 32 mm size sits between a small tool port and a big shop vac hose. A 2-1/2 inch shop vac hose is far too big, and a small 27 mm hose is too tight. That size gap is why dust leaks when you tape a big hose to a small port.
A GulpDust adapter fits the 32 mm port on one end and your bigger vac hose on the other end, so you get a tight seal and full suction at the bit.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Makita RP2303FC
Clear any chips out of the rear port first. A clean port gives the best grip.
Push the small end of the PETG adapter into the 32 mm port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm press. Then press your shop vac or dust extractor hose onto the wide end.
Turn the vac on before you plunge the bit. Running the vac while you rout catches the dust at the source and keeps your cut line clear.
Why Routers Need Good Dust Collection
A router spins fast and throws chips and fine dust in every direction. Without a hose, that mess piles up on your work and floats in the air.
Pulling the dust at the port keeps your cut line visible so you can follow the edge or the line with less guesswork. It also keeps fine wood dust out of your lungs.
For the cleanest work, match the adapter to the 32 mm port and run a steady vac. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.
Makita RP2303FC Dust Collection FAQ
What size is the dust port on the Makita RP2303FC?+
Makita lists it as 32 mm on the inside and 37 mm on the outer cuff. It is a round port at the rear of the router. Our adapter plugs into the 32 mm inlet.
Does the Makita RP2303FC work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch, which is much bigger than the 32 mm port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the router port on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Will the same adapter fit other Makita routers?+
Many Makita routers share the 32 mm port class, but sizes vary by model. Check the tool you own and match it to the right port size before you buy.
Can I print this adapter myself?+
Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.
