Makita RT0702C Compact Router Dust Port Size and Shop Vac Adapter
The Makita RT0702C is a compact router. It trims edges, cuts small grooves, and rounds corners with one hand. A small router still throws chips and fine dust, so a good dust hookup keeps your work clean and your view clear.
Makita lists the dust port at 32 mm on the inside and 37 mm on the outer cuff. Our PETG adapter plugs into the 32 mm port and steps it to any standard shop vac or dust extractor hose. No tape. No clamps.

Makita RT0702C Dust Port Size: 32 mm Round Inlet, 37 mm Outer Cuff
Makita publishes the RT0702C dust connection as 32 mm in and 37 mm out. The 32 mm figure is the inside of the port, which is what our adapter plugs into. The 37 mm figure is the outer cuff that a hose can slip over.
That 32 mm size is too small for a 2-1/2 inch shop vac hose and too big for a tiny 27 mm hose. That size gap is why dust leaks when you tape a big hose right onto a small port.
A GulpDust adapter fits the 32 mm port on one end and your bigger vac hose on the other end, so you get a tight seal and full suction at the bit.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Makita RT0702C
Clear any chips out of the rear port first. A clean port gives the best grip.
Push the small end of the PETG adapter into the 32 mm port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm press. Then press your shop vac or dust extractor hose onto the wide end.
Turn the vac on before you start the cut. Running the vac while you trim catches the dust at the source and keeps your edge line clear.
Why Compact Routers Need Good Dust Collection
A compact router is small but it still spins fast and throws fine dust and chips. On a trim job that dust lands right on the edge you are trying to follow.
Pulling the dust at the port keeps your line visible so your trim stays clean and even. It also keeps fine wood dust out of your lungs.
For the cleanest work, match the adapter to the 32 mm port and run a steady vac. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.
Makita RT0702C Dust Collection FAQ
What size is the dust port on the Makita RT0702C?+
Makita lists it as 32 mm on the inside and 37 mm on the outer cuff. It is a round port at the rear of the router. Our adapter plugs into the 32 mm inlet.
Does the Makita RT0702C work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch, which is much bigger than the 32 mm port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the router port on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Does the RT0702C use the same port as the DRT50?+
Both share the 32 mm port class on the Makita router line. Still, check the exact tool you own and match it to the right port size before you buy.
Can I print this adapter myself?+
Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.
