Ridgid R48630 Track Saw Dust Port Size and Vacuum Adapter Guide

The Ridgid R48630 is an 18V brushless track saw with a 6-1/2 inch blade. It rides on a track to make long, straight cuts in plywood and other sheet goods. Every one of those long cuts pours fine dust right along your cut line.

The dust port on this saw is round and sits at the rear. Ridgid uses one dual-size port design here. It takes both 1-1/4 inch and 1-7/8 inch hose ends. The exact molded bore is not published, so measure your own port with calipers before you buy. A GulpDust PETG adapter matches your measured port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other end. No tape. No clamps.

Ridgid R48630 Dust Port: One Port, Two Hose Sizes

The R48630 has a round dust port at the rear of the saw. Ridgid uses a dual-size design on this port. The same port takes both 1-1/4 inch and 1-7/8 inch hose ends, so two common hose sizes can seat without any adapter at all.

Here is the honest part. The reviewer spec sheet lists the hose sizes the port accepts. It does not list the size of the molded bore itself, and Ridgid does not publish that number. A hose class tells you what should slide on. It does not tell you the exact fit on your saw.

That is why we say measure first. Two quick caliper readings give you the real size of your port. With those numbers, a GulpDust PETG adapter can be built to seal tight on your saw and step to your vac hose.

How to Measure Your Ridgid R48630 Dust Port

Find the round port at the rear of the saw. Wipe out any packed dust so your reading is clean.

Close caliper jaws around the outside of the port at its widest point. Write that number down. Then open the jaws inside the port and measure the bore. Write that down too.

Two numbers, inside and outside, tell us exactly how your port is shaped. Enter them in the GulpDust configurator custom path and we build the adapter to match.

How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Ridgid R48630 Track Saw

If your hose end is 1-1/4 inch or 1-7/8 inch, try it on the port first. The dual-size design means one of those sizes may seat right in.

If the fit is loose, or your hose is a different size, use a GulpDust PETG adapter. Press the small end onto the port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the wide end.

Turn the vac on before you cut. A track saw is all about long, clean cuts, and a clear view of the line makes those cuts easier. You also breathe a lot less dust.

Ridgid R48630 Dust Collection FAQ

What size is the dust port on the Ridgid R48630?+

Ridgid does not publish the molded bore. The port is a dual-size design that takes both 1-1/4 inch and 1-7/8 inch hose ends. Measure your own port with calipers before you buy so the fit is tight.

Will my shop vac hose fit the Ridgid R48630 without an adapter?+

Maybe. If your hose end is 1-1/4 inch or 1-7/8 inch, it may seat in the dual-size port. If it wobbles or leaks dust, a GulpDust adapter built to your measured port gives you a clean seal.

Why does GulpDust not list a mm size for this port?+

Because Ridgid does not publish one. The spec sheet lists hose classes the port accepts, not the bore itself. We never guess a number. Measure your port and we build to what you measure.

Can GulpDust make an adapter for this saw?+

Yes. Measure the inside and outside of the port, then use the GulpDust configurator custom path. We build a PETG adapter that matches your port on one end and your vac hose on the other end.

Can I print this adapter myself?+

Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.
