Makita DSP600 Track Saw Dust Port Size and Shop Vac Adapter
The Makita DSP600 is an 18V X2 cordless plunge cut track saw. It cuts clean, straight lines on sheet goods and boards. A track saw throws a lot of fine dust right at the cut line, so a good dust hookup keeps your view clear and the air clean.
Makita lists the dust port at 35 mm on the inside and 43 mm on the outer cuff. Our PETG adapter plugs into the 35 mm port and steps it to any standard shop vac or dust extractor hose. No tape. No clamps.

Makita DSP600 Dust Port Size: 35 mm Round Inlet, 43 mm Outer Cuff
Makita publishes the DSP600 dust connection as 35 mm in and 43 mm out. The 35 mm figure is the inside of the port, which is what our adapter plugs into. The 43 mm figure is the outer cuff that a Makita or Festool hose can slip over.
The 35 mm size is the same class Makita and Festool use on their track saws, so a 27 mm hose is too small and a 2-1/2 inch shop vac hose is far too big. That size gap is why dust leaks when you tape a big hose to a small port.
A GulpDust adapter fits the 35 mm port on one end and your bigger vac hose on the other end, so you get a tight seal and full suction at the cut.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Makita DSP600
Clear any dust out of the rear port first. A clean port gives the best grip.
Push the small end of the PETG adapter into the 35 mm port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm press. Then press your shop vac or dust extractor hose onto the wide end.
Turn the vac on before you plunge. Running the vac while you cut catches the dust at the source and keeps the track and your line clear.
Why Track Saws Need Good Dust Collection
A track saw cuts a fine kerf and sprays dust straight up out of the guard. Without a hose, that dust lands on the track and the workpiece and hangs in the air.
Pulling the dust at the port keeps the cut line visible so your track stays put and your cut stays true. It also keeps fine dust out of your lungs.
For the cleanest cut, match the adapter to the 35 mm port and run a steady vac. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.
Makita DSP600 Dust Collection FAQ
What size is the dust port on the Makita DSP600?+
Makita lists it as 35 mm on the inside and 43 mm on the outer cuff. It is a round port at the rear of the saw. Our adapter plugs into the 35 mm inlet.
Does the Makita DSP600 work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch, which is much bigger than the 35 mm port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the saw port on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Will a Festool or Makita 36 mm hose fit the DSP600?+
A 36 mm hose can slip over the 43 mm outer cuff on some setups, but the fit varies. If you want a tight seal to a standard shop vac, our adapter is the surer path. Measure your port and hose first.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Can I print this adapter myself?+
Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.
