The Ryobi JS481L is a corded jig saw. It cuts curves and shapes in wood and metal. When you cut, fine dust lands on your line and hides the blade.
This saw does not have a plain round dust port. It uses a proprietary shape at the rear, so a generic round adapter will not push on. Our PETG adapter is built for this saw. It fits the port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other end. No tape. No clamps.

Ryobi JS481L Dust Port: What Fits It
The JS481L does not use a clean round port. It uses a proprietary shape that belongs to this saw. Ryobi's own dust attachment for it is the Vacuum Assembly 301009001.
Because there is no round stub, a plain round adapter will not push on. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 in. or 2-1/2 in., and neither one grabs a proprietary port on its own. That gap is why dust blows past a taped hose and onto your cut line.
Our PETG adapter is made for this port. It grips the saw on one end and steps to your vac hose on the other end.
Why a Jig Saw Needs the Dust Pulled at the Blade
A jig saw cuts curves, and you follow those curves by eye. Dust on the line hides the line.
The blade also sits right under your face on this tool. Fine dust goes straight up and you breathe it.
Pull it at the port and both problems go away. Clear line, cleaner air.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Ryobi JS481L
Wipe out the port so the adapter seats clean.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter onto the saw. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before you cut. A clear line is easier to follow, so your curves come out clean and you breathe less dust.
