Full port and fit detail for this tool
The SKIL 3386-01 is a 9 in. benchtop band saw. It has been a starter saw in home shops for years. Like every band saw, it pulls fine dust down through the table slot and packs it into the lower cabinet.
The dust port is round and sits at the rear. Most shop vac hoses are bigger than it, and that mismatch is why hoses fall off. A GulpDust PETG adapter fits the port on one end and your hose on the other. No tape. No clamps.

SKIL 3386-01 Dust Port: What Fits It
The 3386-01 has a round dust port at the rear of the saw. Our PETG adapter is built to fit it.
Watch the model number. SKIL's newer 9 in. band saw, the BW9501-00, uses a different port. The two saws look alike, so an adapter made for one will not seal on the other. Go by the plate on your saw.
Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 in. or 2-1/2 in. Both are too big for this port. The adapter takes the saw on one end and your bigger vac hose on the other, so the joint holds instead of leaking.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the SKIL 3386-01 Band Saw
Unplug the saw first. Then wipe the dust off the rear port so the adapter can seat clean.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. It is a friction fit, so a firm push is all it takes. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before the blade touches wood. A band saw starts packing dust into the cabinet from the first inch of the cut.
Why a Small Band Saw Still Needs Dust Collection
A 9 in. band saw is a light saw, but the dust it makes is the same fine dust a big saw makes. It does not fall to the floor. It floats.
That dust also packs around the lower wheel and the blade guides inside the cabinet. A clean cabinet means less time with a brush and a screwdriver.
Pulling the dust at the port while you cut keeps the air and the saw clean. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.
SKIL 3386-01 Dust Collection FAQ
What fits the dust port on the SKIL 3386-01?+
Our PETG adapter does. One end presses into the saw port. The other end takes your shop vac hose.
Is the 3386-01 port the same as the newer SKIL BW9501?+
No. The two saws use different ports, and they look alike in photos. Check the model plate before you order.
Does the SKIL 3386-01 work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 in. or 2-1/2 in., which is too big for this port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the saw port on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it in and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Do you sell the design file?+
No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
