The DeWalt DW735 is the 13 inch benchtop thickness planer. It has a fan in it that blows chips out the top, and it makes more waste per minute than any other tool most people own. One pass on a wide board fills a bucket.
The planer sends those chips out through a hood. Our PETG adapter joins the hood to the hose you already run, so the chips end up in the collector instead of on the ceiling and the floor. No tape. No clamps.

What Fits the DeWalt DW735 Dust Hood
The hood is the round outlet the chips leave through. That is the side we fit, and our adapter is made for it.
The heading says hood on purpose. Read the next section before you buy anything, because the machine has another opening and it is a different shape.
Our adapter grips the hood on one end and your hose on the other end. It presses on by hand, so there is nothing to clamp.
DW735 Dust Collection: Hood Side and Tool Side
This planer has two sides to the dust path and people mix them up constantly.
The hood is round. A hose fits it and a printed adapter fits it, and that is what we sell.
The outlet moulded into the machine underneath is not round. DeWalt sells its own shaped adapter for that opening because a round part will not seal on it. We do not make a replacement for that side, and nothing we sell goes there.
So the rule is simple. Fit the hood, run the hose off the hood, and leave the machine outlet alone.
Moving Off the DW735 Dust Bag
A bag on a planer is a losing game. This machine blows chips hard, and the bag balloons, packs, and then lets the fine dust straight through the cloth.
A dust collector is the right partner here. It moves the volume of air a planer needs, and it will not clog on a pile of shavings.
A shop vac works if that is what you have, but empty it often and expect to. Read the next section for why.
Either way, run it the whole time you plane. Chips left inside the machine press into the board on the next pass and dent it.
DW735 and DW735X: Same Dust Setup
The DW735X is the same planer with a stand, infeed and outfeed tables, and an extra set of knives in the box.
The dust path is identical. Same hood, same hose, same adapter.

No. The outlet on the machine is not round, so a round part will not seal on it. We make the part that fits the hood.

A dust collector, if you have one. A planer throws a huge volume of shavings and a collector moves the air to keep up. A shop vac works, but you will empty it a lot.
Do I need clamps or tape to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You push it on and it holds.
