Masuter 3S dust collection adapter and shop vac hose guide
Measure to order
Dust port
Look at the dust shoe outlet on your FoxAlien Masuter 3S. If it sticks out like a tube, measure the outside. On the Masuter 3S, if it is a hole, measure the inside. Use calipers.
Build your FoxAlien Masuter 3S adapter here
The builder starts with your FoxAlien Masuter 3S named and “Something sticks out” picked. If your dust shoe outlet is an opening, pick “There is an opening” instead. Then type the two sizes you measured. Nothing is filled in for you.

Full port and fit detail for this tool
The FoxAlien Masuter 3S is a desktop CNC router. It cuts and engraves wood and other soft stock, and every pass leaves a pile of chips and fine dust on the bed. A shop vac on the dust shoe keeps most of it out of the air and off your parts.
This page shows you what to connect to, how to measure it, and how to pick the right kind of adapter. The builder is on the page, so you can finish here. We have no dust port size on file for this machine and we will not guess one. You measure your own, and we print the adapter to your numbers.

FoxAlien Masuter 3S Dust Shoe and Dust Port: What You Connect To
A router like this does not pull dust from a port on the body of the machine. The hose goes on the dust shoe, which is the hood with brushes that wraps around the spindle. Some people call it a dust boot. The shoe has a short outlet on one side, and that outlet is the dust port you connect to.
FoxAlien sells dust shoes for its machines, and many owners print one or buy one from another maker. They are not all alike. The shoe on your machine is the one to measure, not a shoe in a photo.
We have no dust port size on file for the Masuter 3S, so this page does not print one. Two minutes with calipers gives you a number that is right for your shoe.
How to Measure the Masuter 3S Dust Port and Your Shop Vac Hose
Start with the outlet on your dust shoe where the hose goes. Look at it first. Either it sticks out like a short tube, or it is an opening you can look into.
If it sticks out, measure across the outside of the tube. If it is an opening, measure across the inside, wall to wall. Check it in two directions, then write the number down to the tenth of a millimeter. Do not round it. The size guide has the full steps.
Now the hose. Measure the inside of the open end of your shop vac hose. If the end has a hard plastic cuff, measure inside the cuff. If it is bare hose with no cuff, measure the inside of the hose itself.
Slide Over It or Go Inside It: How the Adapter Mates
The builder on this page asks how your connection mates, and you pick the picture that looks like yours. The choice changes what we print.
If the outlet sticks out, our adapter slides over it. That end is a socket, and you measure the outside. If the outlet is an opening, our adapter goes inside it. That end is a spigot, and you measure the inside.
The builder starts with Something sticks out picked. That is only a starting point, so change it if your outlet is an opening. The same choice comes up on the hose side. Most hose ends are an opening, so the adapter usually goes into the end of the hose. If your outlet is not a plain tube or a plain opening, use the Send us the shape button in the builder.
Connecting CNC Dust Collection to a Shop Vac
A hose taped onto the outlet leaks dust, and it can pull loose as the spindle travels across the bed. A printed PETG adapter between your shoe and your hose gives you one clean joint. It is made in the USA and ships from the US. Add a wrap of tape at any joint that sees heavy use.
Run the vac before the bit touches the stock. Leave the hose some slack so the gantry can reach every corner of the bed without a tug.
Wear a mask when you cut MDF, even with the vac running. MDF dust is very fine, and a vac does not catch all of it.
FoxAlien Masuter 3S Dust Collection FAQ
Does GulpDust list a dust port size for the FoxAlien Masuter 3S?+
No. We do not print a size for this machine. Measure the outlet on your own dust shoe and build the adapter to your number.
Which part of the Masuter 3S do I measure?+
Measure the outlet on your dust shoe, the short tube or opening where the vac hose goes. Then measure the open end of your shop vac hose. Those are the two numbers the builder asks for.
Does my Masuter 3S have a dust shoe?+
That depends on the kit you bought and what you added later. Whatever shoe is on your machine, measure its outlet. If you have no shoe yet, get one first, then measure it.
Can I order from this page?+
Yes. Type both sizes into the builder on this page, tick the box that says you measured them, and add the part to your cart. Nothing in the builder is filled in for you.
Can I use the shop vac hose I already own?+
Yes. Measure the inside of the open end of the hose. The builder takes inches or millimeters, so use whichever your tape or calipers show.
What if my dust shoe outlet is not a plain tube?+
Use the Send us the shape button in the builder and tell us what you see. A plain tube or a plain opening is the case the builder handles on its own.
Do you sell the design file?+
No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
