Makita XVJ03 Jig Saw Dust Port Size and Vacuum Adapter Guide
The Makita XVJ03 is an 18V LXT cordless jig saw. It runs on the Makita 18V battery and cuts curves and shapes in wood and metal. When you cut, fine dust lands on your line and hides the blade.
This saw does not have a plain round dust port. It uses a proprietary nozzle, so a generic round adapter will not just push on. The matching OEM part is the Dust nozzle 126331-0. Makita does not publish a bore size, so measure your own port with calipers before you buy. A GulpDust PETG adapter can be built to match the port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other end. No tape. No clamps.

Makita XVJ03 Dust Port: Proprietary Nozzle, No Published Size
The XVJ03 does not use a clean round port. It uses a proprietary dust nozzle that fits the shape of this saw. The matching OEM part is the Dust nozzle 126331-0. Makita does not list a bore size for it.
Because there is no round stub, a plain round adapter will not push on and seal. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch, and neither one grabs a proprietary nozzle on its own. That gap is why dust blows past a taped hose and onto your cut line.
You have three good paths. Measure your exact port and order a GulpDust adapter built to that shape. Use the OEM Dust nozzle 126331-0 as the dust attachment. Or use the GulpDust configurator custom path and send us your two port readings so we match it.
How to Measure Your Makita XVJ03 Dust Port
Look at the rear dust nozzle point on the saw. Because it is a proprietary shape, write down the width and the height, not just one number. Wipe out any sawdust so your reading is clean.
Close caliper jaws around the outside of the port at its widest point. Then take the inside reading the same way. Two numbers tell us the shape so the adapter can be matched to it.
If you already own the OEM Dust nozzle 126331-0, measure the open end of that part too. That is often the easiest place to step to a shop vac hose.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Makita XVJ03
First, fit the correct dust nozzle to the saw. That is either the OEM Dust nozzle 126331-0 or a GulpDust part built to your measured port.
Press the small end of the PETG adapter onto the nozzle. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the wide end.
Turn the vac on before you cut. A clear line is easier to follow, so your curves come out clean and you breathe less dust.
Makita XVJ03 Dust Collection FAQ
What size is the dust port on the Makita XVJ03?+
Makita does not publish a bore size. The saw uses a proprietary nozzle, the OEM Dust nozzle 126331-0, not a round cuff. Measure your own port with calipers before you buy so the fit is tight.
Will a round shop vac adapter fit the Makita XVJ03?+
Not on its own. The port is a proprietary shape, so a plain round adapter will not push on and seal. Use the OEM nozzle 126331-0 or a GulpDust adapter built to your measured port.
What is OEM part 126331-0?+
It is the Makita dust nozzle for the XVJ03, the proprietary attachment made for this saw. You can find it on the XVJ03 parts diagram. It is the safest starting point for a clean dust hookup.
Can GulpDust make an adapter for this saw?+
Yes. Measure your port width and height, then use the GulpDust configurator custom path. We build a PETG adapter that matches your port on one end and steps to your shop vac hose on the other end.
Can I print this adapter myself?+
Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.
