WEN 20418 20V Max Cordless Variable Speed Belt Sander

Model: 20418Category: Belt Sander

Specifications

Full port and fit detail for this tool

The WEN 20418 is a 20V cordless, variable speed belt sander. Cordless means you can sand anywhere, and that means the dust follows you anywhere too. The included bag catches chips and lets the fine dust blow through. Hooking a shop vac to the port grabs the dust at the source, so it goes into the vac instead of into your air.

The onboard port is round and takes either the bag or a hose. A GulpDust PETG adapter fits that port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other, so the hose holds instead of falling off.

WEN 20418 Dust Port: What Fits It

The onboard dust port on the 20418 takes the included dust bag or a hose. Our PETG adapter is built to fit it. The tool-only 20418BT uses the same port.

Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 in. or 2-1/2 in. Neither one seals on a sander port by itself. That gap is why fine dust leaks out around the hose instead of going into it.

The adapter grips the sander port on one end and your vac hose on the other, so you get a snug fit with no tape and no clamps.

How to Connect a Shop Vac to the WEN 20418

First, pull the dust bag off and clear any packed dust out of the port, so it fits snug.

Press the tool end of the PETG adapter onto the port. It is a friction fit, so a firm push holds it. Press your shop vac hose onto the other end. Turn the vac on before the belt touches wood.

Yes, a hose does tie your cordless sander to the vac. For quick touch-ups outdoors, run the bag. For real sanding indoors, run the vac, so the fine dust never reaches your lungs.

Cordless Sanding Without the Dust Cloud

A cordless belt sander invites you to sand in places with no dust control at all: the hallway, the stairs, the garage with the door shut. Fine dust in those spaces hangs in the air for hours.

The 20418 has a real port that a printed adapter can grab, so the vac you already own keeps those jobs clean. Budget sander, clean air. That is the whole pitch.

WEN 20418 Dust Collection FAQ

What fits the dust port on the WEN 20418?+

Our PETG adapter does. One end presses onto the sander port. The other end takes your shop vac hose.

Does the same adapter fit the WEN 20418BT tool-only version?+

Yes. The 20418BT is the same sander sold without the battery, and it uses the same port. One adapter covers both.

Does the WEN 20418 work with a regular shop vac?+

Yes, with the right adapter. A standard shop vac hose is wider than the sander port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the port on one end and your vac hose on the other.

Do other WEN belt sanders use the same adapter?+

The corded HB321V and HB6319 take the same one. The larger HB424V needs its own. Pick your model in the configurator and you get the right part.

Do you sell the design file?+

No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
