Milwaukee 2723-20 M18 FUEL Compact Router Dust Port Size and Vacuum Adapter Guide
The Milwaukee 2723-20 is the M18 FUEL 1/4 inch compact router. It trims edges and cuts grooves on the M18 battery. A router throws a lot of chips fast, more than most small tools.
The router has a tapered dust port on the side. The port is about 30 mm at the grip and rises to about 35 mm at the lip. A GulpDust PETG adapter is shaped to that taper so it slides on with a firm push and stays put. No tape. No clamps.

Milwaukee 2723-20 Dust Port Size: About 30 mm Inside, Tapered Up to About 35 mm
The dust port on the 2723-20 is tapered, not straight. It measures about 30 mm on the inside near the grip and about 35 mm at the lip. Numbers verified from a Toolcurve adapter listing tuned to the router.
Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. They do not fit a 30 mm port on their own. That gap is why chips fly past the hose and pile up on your work.
A GulpDust adapter is printed to match the router taper on one end and your vac hose on the other end. It seals both sides so the router pulls chips straight into the vac.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the M18 FUEL Compact Router
First, clear any chips out of the side port. A clean port gives the best seal.
Press the small end of the PETG adapter onto the tapered port. It is a friction fit, so it grips on the slope with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before you start the cut. A router moves fast, so the vac needs to be running to keep up with the chips.
Why a Router Needs Strong Dust Pickup
A router spins at high speed and clears a lot of wood fast. That means a big pile of chips in a short time.
Those chips cover your cut line and bury the edge you are shaping. Pulling them at the port keeps the work clear so you can see what you are doing.
Use a shop vac with good suction and keep the hose short. The more air the vac moves, the more chips it grabs before they hit the bench.
Milwaukee 2723-20 Dust Collection FAQ
What size is the dust port on the Milwaukee 2723-20?+
The dust port is tapered. It is about 30 mm across on the inside near the grip and about 35 mm at the lip. The taper helps the adapter grip without clamps.
Does the Milwaukee 2723-20 work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with the right adapter. A standard shop vac hose is too big for the 30 mm port end. The GulpDust PETG adapter slides onto the tapered router port on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Do I need clamps or tape to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You push it into the port and it holds. The same goes for the vac hose end.
Will a shop vac keep up with the chips from a router?+
Yes, if it has good suction. A router makes a lot of chips fast. Keep the hose short and straight, and turn the vac on before you start the cut.
Can I print this adapter myself?+
Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.
Does the same adapter fit other Milwaukee M18 tools?+
Not always. The 2723-20 router port is tapered, while many other Milwaukee M18 tools use straight round ports at different sizes. Check each tool page for its verified port size before you buy.
